Neighbourhood Watch

Information about the local Neighbourhood Watch group

Neighbourhood Watch has a great reputation as a successful crime prevention organisation. The joint Hatton Station, Shrewley and Little Shrewley Neighbourhood Watch works closely with the Parish Council and the local Warwickshire Rural West Police Team to focus on practical ways to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, and to improve our protection and safety for greater security.

Monthly police newsletters and general updates are passed on by email to members by coordinators throughout the Parish to keep everyone aware of current issues like internet and telephone-based fraud, and local issues such as burglary, car crime and thefts from sheds and outbuildings.

This helps to:

  –  Reduce crime – by improving security, increasing vigilance, reducing crime by increasing the awareness of crime prevention methods

  –  Assist the police in detecting crime – by promoting effective communication and the prompt reporting of suspicious and criminal activity

  –  Reduce the fear of crime – promoting a sense of security and community spirit especially amongst the more vulnerable

  –  Improve police/community liaison – by providing effective means to notify coordinators of local crime trends and by members advising the police of   incidents when they occur

Window stickers can be displayed to promote the scheme to remind everybody there is a very active scheme in place in this parish.

Although we may not be particularly visible, we are not standing still and our local NW scheme is steadily growing in membership.

The co-ordinators continue to do a great job, but they need your help to recruit more members. If anybody is not a member and would like to be a member it is very quick and easy to join. For more information please contact:
